Hello, I am Natalka

Hello, I would like to introduce myself, I am Natalka. I am absolutely happy, smiling, obedient and especially modest girl. I will be 3 years old soon, and no I am not supertalented girl, I am not writting this all alone, my parents are. I have two older roommates...(Lucy and Suzy). Yes you are right. They are my sisters. I love doing everything with them...ehm...everythig where they carry me...I am writting carry because usually I cannot get there alone. They have to carry me a lot because I have a big problem. I was born without a femur, and in addition to this, the doctors discovered that I have no hip joint. (If you would like to find out more about my diagnosis look at the link below. It is called PFFD Pappas 1, or PFFD Paley type 3b. https://paleyinstitute.org/blog/conditions/congenital-femoral-deficiency/treatment-strategies/

I didn´t know how serious my diagnosis was, or how complicated the surgery would be until I met Dr. Paley. I had the opportunity to visit with him at his institute in West Palm Beach, Florida. You may be familiar with his work, he as helped many children all over the world with similar issues. However, my situation is not as common, yet he has successfully helped over 50 children with the same diagnosis as mine over the past 24 years. (Paley institute Florida).

Dr. Paley will have to rotate my leg so that my knee will utilized as my hip joint, and my ankle will be in postition for a prosthestic to be used. This was great news because I will be able to keep my leg! But...there is a little problem. The surgery I need is the most complicated, longest and most expensive Dr. Paley perform. (Look at the link).

I understand that my left leg will never be as long my right leg, however Dr Paley has told me that through this procedure I will have a normal stride. The best time to perform the surgery is between the age 3 and 4. My current prostetics used with my short leg hurts me and if I wear it to long causes swelling. when I walk and I don´t rule to wear it long because it causes me swellings. To see that I have no limits look at my video......

You can see the result of the surgery in Josh´s video. He had the same problem as I do and he was the first patient with this surgery that Dr. Paley performed.

My problem?
